Position Summary:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for the operational execution and governance of the "Group Procurement Policy" across group.one. The role focuses on ensuring compliant, transparent, cost-optimal, and efficient procurement through strong ownership of the Request-to-Purchase (RTP) process, structured sourcing, and supplier management support.
Acting as the central operational gatekeeper for procurement activities, the role ensures that all purchases are initiated correctly, follow defined governance paths, and meet approval, documentation, and audit requirements without creating delays, quality mismatch, or other hinderances for the business.
The role supports senior leaders, procurement stakeholders, and budget owners in high-value, high-stake, and strategic procurements by providing structure, coordination, and documentation. All the procurements must follow strict approval framework.
This is a group-wide role (all entities belonging to group.one), working closely with Finance, Legal, Information Security, Sustainability, and local entity management to ensure procurement activities are compliant, executable, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Governance:
Own and operationalize the Group Procurement Policy across all group.one entities.
Translate policy principles into clear processes, templates, tools, and decision frameworks.
Ensure proportional, risk-based procurement governance aligned with defined value thresholds.
Govern escalation and resolution of non-standard, high-risk, or exception-based procurements.
Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready procurement documentation and records.
Request-to-Purchase (RTP) Ownership:
Own the end-to-end RTP process and its integration with procurement and financial workflows.
Ensure all purchases are initiated, validated, approved, and documented through RTP prior to commitment.
Define and enforce RTP validation criteria, sourcing route selection, and approval workflows.
Prevent retroactive or non-compliant purchases and manage exceptions in line with policy.
Provide transparency, reporting, and audit trails for all RTP activities.
Sourcing, Contracting & Supplier Management:
Coordinate or oversee sourcing activities based on defined value thresholds (quotes, RFQs, RFPs, tenders).
Ensure fair competition, objective evaluation, and well-documented award decisions.
Coordinate contract drafting and execution with Legal, Finance, and the appropriate contracting entity.
Oversee supplier performance reviews, contract renewals, amendments, and termination triggers.
Maintain a structured supplier portfolio with risk, performance, and sustainability oversight
Financial, Risk & Compliance Alignment:
Partner closely with Finance to ensure budget validation, spend control, and cost transparency.
Ensure procurement decisions comply with InfoSec, data protection, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Embed sustainability, ESG, and ethical sourcing criteria into procurement processes.
Support internal and external audits, addressing findings and driving corrective actions.
Monitor spend fragmentation, policy deviations, and control weaknesses.
Stakeholder Enablement & Training:
Act as the primary procurement partner for department heads and senior management.
Provide guidance, training, and clear communication to managers and requestors on procurement policies and processes.
Maintain and regularly review the Authorized Purchaser Register in collaboration with Finance.
Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and value-based purchasing decisions.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting:
Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, tools, and governance maturity.
Define, monitor, and report on procurement KPIs (e.g., compliance, cycle time, savings, supplier performance).
Provide regular reporting to the CIO, CFO, and senior leadership on procurement performance, risks, and improvements.
Lead periodic reviews and updates of procurement policies in response to business, regulatory, or audit changes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Strategy, or General Management is desirable.
Professional Certifications in Procurement & Supply, in Supply Management, etc. is advantage.
8 - 10 years of experience in procurement operations, preferably in a multi-entity / multi-geography environment.
Strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including RTP, sourcing, contracting, and supplier management.
Experience working with value-based governance models, approval thresholds, and audit controls.
Familiarity with international procurement standards and best practices.
Proven experience collaborating with Finance, Legal, IT, Information Security, and senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to balance compliance requirements with business enablement.
High integrity, structured decision-making approach, and strong documentation discipline.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent analytical skills, negotiation skills, decision making skills are required.
